About the Authors

Dr. Charles F. Stefanski is the author of a doctoral dissertation, but the title is too long to include here. In 1965, he published a controversial opinion piece in St. Joe’s University student newspaper, The Hawk, arguing that the cafeteria food was really not that bad. He was an English teacher, a school administrator, and a professor. As a toddler, he was nicknamed “My Buddy” by his older brother, Bob, and thereafter went by Bud. Bud currently resides in a Melitta coffee can located in a dresser drawer in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, and somewhere on the 13th hole of Schuylkill Country Club. He promised his wife he would leave his offbeat brain to science, but we forgot and cremated all of him. So, his wit and wisdom are in this book instead.

Jennifer Stefanski is Bud’s daughter and the author of a 1999 essay published in Scholastic News Magazine (thanks, Mr. Stewart!), describing the renowned 20th-century inventor and plumber, Thomas Crapper, and his impact on her favorite invention: The Toilet. In her day job as a lawyer, she authors numerous website disclosures that she’s worried you’ve failed to read. This is her debut book. She lives in Half Moon Bay, California, with her husband, Rusty, and their dog, Stevie Licks.
